Use

For the detection of antineuronal autoantibodies that help in the diagnosis of paraneoplastic syndromes and autoimmune encephalopathies and related conditions


Limitations

This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Labcorp in accordance with CLIA requirements. This test has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Additional Information

This test should be considered for the differential evaluation of seizures of unknown origin that happen several times a day right from the beginning, focal seizures, and facial brachial dystonic seizures. For adults and patients with suspicion of cancer, additional evaluation of paraneoplastic autoantibodies is recommended; refer to Autoimmune Neurology/Paraneoplastic Profile [505500].
